Visit Nepal 2020 is the third attempt for tourism promotion by  Nepal government after the two successive programs as visit Nepal 1999 and Nepal tourism year 2011. Though Nepal  falls on the fifth list among the top 10 countries in the world to visit once in a lifetime. And, Nepal is undoubtedly one of the most valued tourist destinations in the world. The picturesque beauty of the nature ranging from sky-high Himalayas to the mesmerizing natural scenarios followed by diverse culture and traditions is certainly something that thrive for lifetime experience of travelers!


Unfortunately, the devastating earthquake of 2015  hit Nepal and for some times the tourist destination have been closed for the safety of tourist. But after 2017 all the tourist destination have been in operation and new trail roots for the trekking has been also opened.
The tourism campaign 2020 was previously planned to be held in the year 2018 but was postponed to 2020 due to the delay in the construction of international airports in Pokhara and Lumbini along with the reconstruction of heritage sites and roads.
The government of Nepal is working hard to ensure a successful tourism period by 2020. In the current scenario, Nepal welcomes nearly one million tourists annually and the Tourism Board has set a target to double this number by promoting Visit Nepal 2020 campaign rigorously. Furthermore, the tourism board is currently running Visit Nepal Europe campaign in collaboration with the ambassadors and diplomats of Nepal in European countries.
According to national newspaper Republica Dainik “The government is inaugurating the Visit Year program with the goal of attracting 2 million tourists in the country during the Visit Year 2020. Visit Nepal Year-2020 is going to be formally inaugurated amidst a special program at Dasharath Stadium in Kathmandu on January 1, 2020. Likewise, the government has invited tourism ministers and senior delegates of 31 countries on the inaugural ceremony of the Visit Nepal year 2020.”
In Visit Nepal 2020 year travelers will have an opportunity to directly land in the new international airports as Lumbini and phokhara. The ministry has initiated the process to bring a strategic partner for Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC). It also plans on introducing new narrow body air crafts to provide airline services to numerous tourists. And to make sure to the comfortless of each and every tourist, the government has also plans on running Tribhuvan International Airport for additional 3 hours from regular 18 hours to assure the availability of airport services to incoming and departing tourists.
Many tourist who have already visited Nepal before must have a beautiful memory of UNESCO world heritage sites and also beautiful picture of it from out of the surface but this 2020 year will be the last year to see the same archeological sites in raw form as some reconstruction of the site has not yet been completed yet. How to visit Nepal

  • By International Air to Nepal

Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu is the oldest International airport of Nepal. In 2020 two another international airport will also be in operation i.e. Limbuni international air port and Phokhara international airport. There are  numerous of airlines that operate daily from the various parts of the world it merely depends on from which country you are going to visit Nepal. And the best option is to get precise information is from the airlines that is in operation in your city or country.   • By Train

There are regular passenger and cargo trains that connect Sirsiya (Southern Nepal) and Raxaul (India). There is no visa requirement and this option is only open to Indians and Nepalese. But other nation citizenship holder must get the visa to enter Nepal.

Bus is the most convenient option to visit Nepal from India. There are direct buses that operate between Delhi and Kathmandu. Travelling by car is also a common practice. A vehicle is required to pay a toll fee and a transport permit at the border crossing. Do not forget to collect the receipts as you might be asked at other checkpoints.
